Additional Notes:

  • Smith-Rowe forced his way into the team last season and be nailed with no Ødegaard.
  • Aubameyang needs to play up front and with Pépé in, Lacazette drops out.
  • What will happen with Willock after his great spell at Newcastle?

Aston Villa:

  • Dean Smith figured out his starting XI last season and swapped in Buendia for Barkley.
  • Ashley Young returns to the side he left angry with him. Provides a lot of cover.
  • Very strong XI compared to the start of last season. Villa are a stable PL side now.

Brentford

Additional Notes:

  • Ended the season with a 3-5-2 formation after Henry got injured. Set to continue?
  • Toney and Mbeumo are sure starters in the forward positions, but who joins them?
  • Roerslev got the chance as a RWB at the end of the season. Brentford want a new RB.

Brighton

Additional Notes:

  • Potter never nails down a formation/lineup, Maupay never nails down finishing chances.
  • Very strong centre back trio with Webster and Burn as cover.
  • Polish international Jakub Moder looks like a potential break out player.

Burnley:

  • Good old Burnley, nobody beats that… Well, at least they are predictable.
  • Left wing McNeil always a wanted man, at right wing Burnley wants a man.
  • Vydra won out the striker battle next to Chris Wood.

Chelsea:

XI Contenders (Starts): Christensen (23), Werner (21), and Ziyech (20)

Other Potential Starters: Kovacic

Additional Notes:

  • Mendy, Rüdiger, Kante, Mount… the rest is up for grabs.
  • Kai Havertz could break out and Tuchel seems to favor him as a striker.
  • Way too many quality players to play behind the striker. Pulisic’ speed edges out Ziyech.

Crystal Palace:

Other Potential Starters: Ferguson, Eze

Additional Notes:

  • Really hard to gauge with no manager and uncertain injury recovery times.
  • Given the lack of offensive options, van Aanholt might play OOP with Mitchel at LB.
  • Is this the year of our lord Nathan Ferguson?

Everton:

XI Contenders (Starts): Gomes (20), Holgate (18), and Iwobi (18).

Additional Notes:

  • James Rodriguez hampered by injuries and rumoured to leave. Vital at times last season.
  • Richarlison isn’t injured, but is playing in the Olympics and misses the start of the season.
  • Godfrey will get more playtime at centre back this season, despite many contenders.

Leeds:

XI Contenders (Starts): Klich (22), Rodrigo (20), Koch (15)

Other Potential Starters: None

Additional Notes:

  • Bielsas team is NAILED, but former favorite Klich juuust drops out.
  • Young Strujik impressed as last season went on and is very versatile.
  • Harrison has been kept permanently. Him and Raphinha were huge for Leeds last season.

Leicester:

XI Contenders (Starts): Evans (24), Daka (22) and Bertrand (16)

  • Opposite situation from last season with Pereira coming in for Justin and his achilles tear.
  • Daka, Soumaré and Bertrand in means a lot more potential for rotation than last season.
  • Vardy still nailed, but starting to wind down his career with younger talents around him.

Liverpool:

XI Contenders (Starts): Thiago (22), Keita (18) and Konaté (16)

Additional Notes:

  • Van Dijk, Gomez and Matip back from injury and Konaté in. No more Phillips and Kabak.
  • Klopps tends to ease in new signings, so give Konaté time before he’s nailed.
  • With Jota healthy, Liverpool have a new fab four. Jota and Firmino will rotate as strikers.

Man City:

  • Team looks more settled now, but a new striker is surely on the cards.
  • Foden is finally a solid starter for Man City, but will still get rotated.
  • Laporte seems to be off, while Aké will get more playing time after an injury-riddled season.

Man Utd:

Other Potential Starters: Martial

Additional Notes:

  • Henderson seems to have won the battle with De Gea, but might get a new GK.
  • Solskjær needs to figure out how to use Donny van de Beek.
  • Sancho in and the striker spot is up for grabs. Martial seems out of it and Cavani starts 60%.

Newcastle:

XI Contenders (Starts): Joelinton (24), S. Longstaff (22) and Clark (18)

Other Potential Starters: Manquillo

Additional Notes:

  • With a more injury free season, the trio up top could be lethal.
  • Full-backs are a question mark, especially RB, but Krafth preferred.
  • With Lascelles back fit, the backline should be more secure. Dubravka starts when fit.

Norwich:

  • Sold the irreplaceable Emi Buendia, but Onel Hernandez back from injury will help.
  • Oliver Skipp was vital on loan last season, Gilmour even better this season.
  • Really need to strengthen, but youngsters like Mumba and Placheta can get the chance.

Southampton:

  • Nate Tella is Southampton’s new favorite talent. Will get a chance this season.
  • Strong centre back pairing in Bednarek and Vestergaard with Stephens a good backup.
  • Romeu clings onto a midfield spot. Might look to strengthen here Hasenhüttl.

Tottenham:

XI Contenders (Starts): Lo Celso (22), Moura (20) and Winks (19).

  • Nunu Espirito Santo needs to maximize Ndombélé, Lo Celso and Bergwijn’s potential.
  • Aurier is on his way out and NES in, Doherty needs to step up and make the RB spot his.
  • Dele Alli redemption tour? Competes with GLC and loan return Oliver Skipp.

Watford:

XI Contenders (Starts): Cleverley (23), Etebo (20), and King (19)

Other Potential Starters: Fletcher, Dennis

  • Strikers: Pedro > King > Fletcher > Dennis > Deeney > Gray > Success > Mebude > Perica
  • Bachmann took over as GK last season and is preferred over Foster.
  • Watford needed a new left back and Danny Rose needed a new (old) club. Perfect match.

West Ham:

  • Moyesiah has a pretty settled starting XI. Remains to be seen if Lingard comes back.
  • Looking for a new striker and centre back. Dawson in danger of dropping.
  • Mark Noble’s last season at West Ham. Respect the legend!

Wolves:

XI Contenders (Starts): Moutinho (26), Traoré (24), Saïss (19)

Other Potential Starters: Jonny Otto, Fabio Silva

  • New manager with Bruno Lage with a new system. Gives youth a chance.
  • Raul Jimenez hopefully makes a full recovery and is back to his best.
  • Jonny Otto once again out for months with an ACL injury. Aït-Nouri returning and is best LB.
