Getting rid of a lot of their dead weight is awesome, getting the ridiculously talented Nicolas Pépé is also awesome, but their centre backs still leave a lot to be desired. William Saliba is a step in the right direction but he needs more time before he is an established starter. David Luiz is a good centre-back but shouldn’t Arsenal worry when their newest signing just did the same thing their captain did to force a move?
Dani Ceballos as a placeholder replacement for Aaron Ramsey is a genius move, but they really need to try and sign him on a permanent deal to really replace the Welsh international. “I do have to add that after investing so many years into Jack Wilshere, it’s pretty lacklustre that they sell him for free” is a line I used last season. I can only reiterate this x100 when talking about Aaron Ramsey who went on a free transfer to Juventus. Horrible piece of business.
Kieran Tierney is someone I’ve kept a close eye on due to one of my closest friends being a massive Celtic fan, and the player is also someone I’ve got to see live. Quick, mature in his play and very similar to Andy Robertson. It’s a shame, because I could easily see Tierney starting for Scotland too!

Nicolas Pépé is the best signing and he is well worth the money, but Ceballos could be the almost as important, as he brings a new dimension in midfield and makes them a lot more dynamic. Either way, they needed some reinforcements defensively and got it in Kieran Tierney and David Luiz. Tierney is better than Kolasinac defensively and just as good if not better going forward, while Luiz can make a good partnership with Sokratis and is a steal for only £8 mill.
Saliba is a talented centre back for the future, so it will be interesting to see how he gets on eventually. Koscielny left on bad terms after such a long time with the club and it left a sour taste in everyone’s mouth. Losing Ramsey for nothing too also sucks, but they got some of their money lost back with Iwobi’s price tag of £35 million(!). Much improved from their transfer window a year ago.

Aston Villa have spent so much money, it’s crazy. It reminds me so much about Fulham last season who spent like madmen to only get relegated. While I think Aston Villa will have a different outcome, I genuninely believe that Jota is their best transfer of the season. They stole him from their rivals, he has that X Factor about him and I think if given the playtime, could light up the Premier League.
I’ll be honest, it’s not very often that a Championship defender usually lights up the Premier League in their first season and for that reason alone I think Ezri Konsa might be the worst piece of business. They could have easily bought a league ready centre-back for the same price.

Marvellous Nakamba wins the best signing prize on name alone almost, but he’s a quality DM who can help Villa a lot defensively. Villa have spent A LOT of money, spread across loads of new players and with Fulham’s spending and season in memory, I’m not sure it’s a winning strategy. Wesley in as a starting striker was good and needed either way.
Can’t really fault them for any one signing, but I think El Ghazi is the odd one out among the new wingers. Trézéguet and Jota should both be better than the player who looked like a future world beater only a few years ago at Ajax.

When are Bournemouth going to address their GK situation? Begovic is not good enough, Boruc is certainly not good enough, while Travers and Ramsdale are unproven. They needed a new GK and it will hamper them. Lloyd Kelly on the other hand solves a problem at left back and possibly centre back in the future. The big man has a big future and can develop nicely with Bournemouth.
I’m a little confused about getting both Danjuma and Wilson as well. I guess it makes sense if they expect to sell either Fraser or Brooks in the near future, as they are the starting wingers still. Biling is an okay PL midfielder, but doesn’t really move the needle and stands in the way of the development of Lewis Cook.

AFC Bournemouth haven’t really dipped into the funds with their transfers this season. There are more issues with the side like their goalkeeper and someone slightly better to partner up with Nathan Aké than the players they did manage to sign. Bringing Harry Wilson in was a clever move, considering his crazy talent and ability to score from long range, something we really haven’t seen Bournemouth do. I am also not a fan of selling Tyrone Mings considering he had a great year at Aston Villa and would have been a great squad player for AFCB. Missed opportunity, just like their window.

I love Graham Potter and would like to see him one day manage my Everton. Seriously. The guy is unorthodox and very modern in his approach to managing. While I think he has made an absolute quality signing in Leandro Trossard, I think letting Matt Clarke go out on loan was a mistake, not because he doesn’t deserve more experience, but he is a diamond in the rough… which is something Graham Potter is awesome at spotting! Other than that, it has been a somewhat decent window, but they still need some better players, but it is nice to see Aaron Mooy back in the Premier League (it’s where he belongs!)

A fantastic window for Brighton to back their new manager Potter. I’m driving the Leandro Trossard bandwagon and think he’ll be a vital player for Brighton. Quick, skillful and a fantastic right foot. His injury issues are the only reason he only cost £18 mill. Neal Maupay is also just what Brighton needed, a future #1 striker who can also fit in on the wing in Potter’s system.
Not much to criticize here, as Webster is a decent Premier League centre back, but I’m wondering if Matt Clarke is even better and they made a mistake sending him out on loan. Mooy is a decent PL midfielder, but he is no Sander Berge.

Boring old transfer window for Burnley, who rarely bring any spicy additions. However, I have to commend them for making the right choice and backing Nick Pope as their future GK. Enough of this nonsense where Joe Hart was preferred over him. A huge addition by subtraction clearing the way for Pope to return.
Jay Rodriguez homecoming is also nice to see. He is a different type compared to Barnes and Wood and they will rotate well and continue to score important goals for Burnley. Danny Drinkwater was a decent centre mid for Leicester and gets a new chance in a position of need for Burnley. Erik Pieters seems kinda pointless as Neil Taylor will keep him on the bench the whole season.

Chelsea’s hands were tied behind their backs, not only with the transfer ban in place, but also a with a wantaway star in Eden Hazard. Thankfully they had a replacement ready to return from January in Pulisic and luckily they have so many talented players out on loan. Pulisic will be fun to watch in the Premier League and according to US writers, he has the upside of Messi… Not so sure about that, but he’s still good.
Some other players back from loan are kind of pointless. Batshuayi keeps rotting away behind Giroud and now Abraham, while Kenedy is not good enough for this level. Getting only £8 million for David Luiz seems like too little, but I guess he had no future there anyway.

Chelsea are pretty unfortunate to get a transfer ban when they lose Eden Hazard to Real Madrid. Christian Pulisic should not be viewed as a replacement for Eden Hazard but rather a long term replacement for both Pedro and Willian. I still think that signing him was a good move, albeit pretty expensive considering a younger Jadon Sancho benched Pulisic for the remainder of the season. It feels harsh to say that Eden Hazard was the worst transfer, but I think Chelsea should have given him the best contract in England several years ago.. he was that good. I still like the shape of Chelsea generally speaking, but the lack of bringing a striker in January might hurt them.

What a dire window for Crystal Palace fans to go through. Wan-Bissaka was a goner before they even knew it, slightly cheap actually in my eyes, while the rumours around Wilfried Zaha wouldn’t stop. He will not be happy about staying and it might end up hurting everyone. Their biggest signing was James McCarthy whose only quality is injuring Dimitri Payet, who’s not even in the league anymore.
On the bright side, they brought in Victor Camarasa who showed last season in Cardiff that he belongs in this league. He should step right into their central midfield. They really needed an upgrade on the striker position however, as Batshuayi is staying with Chelsea. Benteke was good at one point I guess..

It started off (and ended sorta..) badly for Everton, losing their best player in Gana Gueye, but boy did they ever recover! Gbamin is not as good, but is 6 years younger and should provide quality minutes, possibly even in defence. Andre Gomes was brought in before Gueye was sold, but he’s still a very good midfielder and wasn’t too expensive either. Getting Djibril Sidibe strengthens their RB position as well, as Coleman is past his best.
The best transfer however, was Moise Kean. I have no idea how he cost under £30 million, but Everton got the 19 year old for almost nothing. All the talent in the world and can blossom into a new Lukaku-like success for The Toffees. Buying Alex Iwobi for more than twice of what they got for selling Ademola Lookman is not a good look and keeps them from getting the A grade.

Everton and Marcel Brands have gone absolutely bonkers this transfer window. While I am still pissed off about selling Ademola Lookman, I am so happy that we have signed so many wonderful players including Moise Kean who has the makings of becoming the next big thing in Italy! I also love that we have adressed some of our issues in the squad by signing players like Andre Gomes, Jean-Philippe Gbamin and the versatile Englishmen, Fabian Delph!
Trying to get Wilfried Zaha and getting Alex Iwobi is like trying to get a really good player and ending up with an average one instead. Too annoyed to figure out something clever… We’ll sell him for about the same in 2 years time anyway. Still a huge window and I expect big things from Everton this season!

Leicester have been making great, young signings ever since that magical summer that netted them N’Golo Kanté, Riyad Mahrez and eventually a Premier League title. This summer is not different. Keeping Youri Tielemans after his super impressive loan spell was paramount and he will fit perfectly next to Ndidi and Maddison like last year.
Ayoze seems like a perfect fit too and can go up a level with better teammates too. Harry Maguire will be missed, but £78.3 million will be welcome. It’s tough to see Dennis Praet starting over either of Leicester’s midfielders, but it’s a shrewd signing and squad depth like him is never a bad thing. They probably should’ve prioritized a replacement for Maguire though.

After spending a bunch the last few transfer windows, Liverpool have shut their money bag and basically kept the same squad that was so successful last season. I’m a big believer in Joe Gomez, but that’s if he stays healthy, which has struggled to do. Lovren and Matip are decent, so I’m not too worried about their lack of a CB signing.
Getting in the legend Adrián as a backup is fantastic for Liverpool, they’re gonna love him. He’s an upgrade over Mignolet and fits the culture in Liverpool in my eyes, similarly to how Pepe Reina did back in the day. Not much else to either praise or critique Liverpool for.

While Joe Gomez has all the talent in the world, he is riddled with so many injury problems. Joel Matip is also not at the same standard as VVD, so it would have made sense to have brought in someone slightly better to partner up with him. I will give Liverpool all the credit in the world in selling Danny Ings for £20 million. Holy moly.

Man City did what they should have done last year and got a long term replacement for Fernandinho at defensive mid. Rodri should step right in and dominate for Man City and as Spain’s heir of Sergio Busquets reign, he’ll be more than suited for Pep’s style of play. Joao Cancelo is an upgrade over Kyle Walker at right back and for only £27 million + Danilo that is a very good deal for Man City.
Speaking of Fernandinho and Walker, they might have to feature at centre back next to Laporte for a bit this season. Stones is decent, but should Laporte get more injured, City will be in big trouble. They really need an upgrade at centre back if they want to win it all.

Well.. Man Utd have spent a shitload of money, high prices both because they are Man Utd and because they buy English players. Aaron Wan-Bissaka is worth every penny and then some either way. He’s the future at RB for Man Utd and for England. I and many others are huge fans. I’m also actually a pretty huge fan of Harry Maguire, but not £78.3 millions worth of a fan. Matthijs De Ligt was available for quite a bit less and is both younger and way more talented. Still, Man Utd needed a centre back and they got one.
Letting go of Ander Herrera for nothing, who has been one of their best players the last few years is the worse transfer. They also still need some reinforcements in their front 3 behind the striker. Lukaku gets a lot more negativity than he deserves and deserves a fresh start away from Man Utd. Man Utd get some money back, win-win.

Wow, United. First you hate him, then love him, and now sell him. Sure, he might have fallen out of love with you guys, but I am not convinced United did enough to keep Romelu Lukaku at the club. Most of you will be sad to see him go, I am sure. Also, I am not convinced that you should pay that much for Harry Maguire. He will definitely make me eat my words, but holy cannoli, that is a lot of money for a centre-back. I am much more convinced and a bigger fan of his England compatriot, AWB as he was brilliant for Crystal Palace last year and has excelled for Manchester United in the pre-season. I think United have done well but losing Romelu Lukaku could cost them dearly.

Newcastle are in trouble. First by not buying Rondon and then Rafa Benitez leaving. Aj, aj, aj! I am pretty happy I’m not a Newcastle United fan, but I am intrigued to see how Joelinton and Allan Saint-Maximin does as both are wonderfully talented, but I feel they should have also addressed some other issues like their midfield and defense. At the very least they got former HIF player and current Swedish international Emil Krafth, who’s strength is defensively. Still, this could be a very tough year for Newcastle fans, but at least you might get to experience some Andy Carroll magic!

Worst Transfer: Jetro Willems
Two good transfers in with Joelinton who is a younger version of the departing Rondon and a high class dribbler in Saint-Maximin. He has to work on his end product, but he has all the talent in the world and a Gucci headband to boot. If he gets his head in the right place, he can be a star. Joelinton will also be good for Newcastle, but £40 million was on the expensive side.
Losing Ayoze Perez sucks, but he was very up and down with Newcastle. He’s a much better fit next to better players in Leicester, so it’s a win-win in my book. Andy Carroll coming back home is also a win-win. Godspeed big Andy. Emil Krafth is a very needed addition at right (wing)-back, much better than Manquillo and Yedlin.

I genuinely think Norwich had a decent window, nothing spectacular, but not bad either. Huge fan of Ralf Fährmann and I think Josip Drmic is a smart free transfer as they will be able to sell him on for a healthy profit in the future. They shouldn’t have sold Steven Naismith because he is a cult hero at Everton. Ya’ll screwed up, dudes.

Norwich haven’t really done much and played it safe. They addressed an area of need with a new goalkeeper and Fährmann should be a clear upgrade over Tim Krul. They are still leaky defensively however and will need all their young players to take a step up if they wanna survive in the Premier League.
Drmic is a decent punt after all his injury issues, as he’s still only 26 years old, while Paddy Roberts desperately needs to get his career on track after a torrid time in Spain. He’s better suited in Great Britain. Amadou might help shore up the defence, but the biggest thing for Norwich was keeping Max Aarons.

I think Sheffield United are going to get relegated. Sue me. I will however praise them for getting Oliver McBurnie from Swansea as he looks like a great Championship striker which is something they will need next season when they’re down. I also believe that bringing Ravel Morrison in is a horrible idea conisdering he flopped massively at Östersunds and is a troublemaker. Good luck this season, Blades.

Oli McBurnie makes a lot of sense for Sheffield United, as he’s a proven championship striker. They’re gonna need him a year from now. Callum Robinson is cheeky little signing and could partner McBurnie up top. Sheffield United will need them to provide goals to stay up.
Lys Mousset hasn’t proven anything yet, but there still might be light at the end of the tunnel. That won’t be the case for Ravel Morrison who has wasted his talents and couldn’t even play in the Swedish Allsvenskan. Maybe like 5% chance of a single moment of magic from him, at best. Pointless.

Pretty pedestrian stuff from Southampton here with some strikers in and an exciting name on the wing. I think you can do a lot better than Danny Ings for £20 million, especially considering his injury issues. Che Adams is one of them, for £5 million less and should be their main striker going forward, at least until Obafemi emerges. I thought Matt Targett would take over for Bertrand eventually and not sure how smart it is to sell him.
Moussa Djenepo is an exciting name and an exciting player at times, but he’s way too reckless and gets into trouble far too often for my liking. I don’t see how he ends up any better than Moi Elyounoussi who they got last season. I have more faith in Sofiane Boufal finding his form, cause when motivated, he is top class.

I am a huge fan of them signing Che Adams who showed that he’s a very talented player in the Championship last season but losing Matt Targett to a Premier League rival is stupid and might come back to haunt them. I hope Sofiane Boufal gets a chance under Hasenhüttl as he is one of the best dribblers in the Premier League #HotTake.

Worst Transfer: Christian Eriksen?
Are we dreaming? Should we pinch ourselves? Are Spurs finally buying players?? They bought Tanguy Ndombele?? Madness. Finally Spurs are buying in the players they desperately need and Ndombele is a super signing. It’s a shame that neither the Dybala or Bruno Fernandes deals came through, but buying Lo Celso and Sessegnon is a good consolation price. Assuming Eriksen leaves before the European window closes, and Lo Celso is partly his replacement, it’s not enough for a top grade. Either way, well done Spurs, finally some good traction in the transfer window.

Finally Tottenham made a splash in the transfer window! What a great transfer to make a splash with in Tanguy Ndombele. He is exactly what Totteham have needed ever since they had a fit Moussa Dembele. A major upgrade over Eric Dier and a much better purchase than Man Utd did for a similarly priced Fred a year ago. Jack Clarke who officially broke the transfer drought is also a hugely talented individual and will be exciting to watch play.
Getting Giovani Lo Celso and Ryan Sessegnon too makes for a great window for Spurs. Several young players with a lot to offer. Would’ve probably preferred getting Bruno Fernandes over Lo Celso, but beggars can’t be choosers. Tottenham fans have to be really happy with this one.

Watford left it late, but splashing a club record fee on a talented youngster in Ismaila Sarr kinda saved their window and possibly their season. Dat Guy Welbz helped too I guess. Sarr is an upgrade over FPL troll Pereyra and the Albino Messi, Will Hughes and is a fun player to watch to boot. He’s fan-fucking-tastic at his best, but really poor at his worst, delightfully Watford-esque.
Craig Dawson steps in as an upgrade over Mariappa, but he’s not the long term solution at right back and is looking a lot older now than the last time he was in the league. Lukebakio had a good year with Fortuna Dusseldorf last season and I’m surprised they let him go, even for £18 million. It might come back to bite them in the ass.

Watford have screwed up during this transfer window. Dodi Lukebakio was sold for a healthy profit but he did very well in the Bundesliga last season and seems like a very promising player. Getting Danny Welbeck on a free transfer is fun and hopefully the former Manchester United and Arsenal forward will revitalize his career and show why these two top clubs ever had him in the first place. I also think bringing Craig Dawson rather than a younger centre-back is also a dumb decision. I have to say though, Ismaila Sarr is a huge, huge signing but it remains to see whether he can adapt in the Premier League

West Ham are one of the sides who killed it in the transfer window. Getting rid of the locker room cancer that is Marko Arnautovic, bringing in the highly talented Pablo Fornals and Sébastien Haller for relatively decent prices are just some of the highlights of the transfer window. I am very jealous of the two signings as I feel like this is the first time since Dimitri Payet that West Ham could dream of a cup run/European contention. West Ham fans could also say it’s pretty wasteful to get rid of Reece Oxford and for him going for a really cheap price.

Once again West Ham are buying exciting talents from abroad and I’d say they’ve even upped the ante this summer with Haller and Fornals who should go straight into the XI and dominate. Future full time French and Spanish internationals who can be sold at a profit in a couple years time. Cardoso is more of an unproven punt, but for £2,7 million, it’s worth it. Ajeti is a good young Carroll replacement, hopefully without the injuries.
Only £33 million net spend is amazing considering the quality that is coming in. Getting in a centre mid like Sander Berge to take over for Mark Noble would seal the straight A here, but Wilshere seems to be fit and looks good for now. Swapping Adrián for Roberto is a huge downgrade, even if it is for lesser wages. Gonna miss you Adrián.

A really good transfer window for Wolverhampton, so it’s hard to pick out a “bad” transfer. Cutrone is a talented goal poacher, a new Pippo Inzaghi if you will, who is always at the right place at the right time, but I think Diogo Jota and Raul Jimenez both are and forever will be better than him. Jimenez for £34 million is a steal at this point, and they get a proven PL striker for about the same as Benteke went for.
Cavaleiro and Costa never impressed at this level and loans to the Championship should up their value. In comes Pedro Neto and Bruno Jordão, who I admittedly have watched very little of, but especially Neto looks like a potential star from what I’ve seen. Vallejo is an upgrade in defence and Dendoncker for £12 million is shrew business. Great mixture of proven and talented players, but at a price.

I am so sorry, Raul Jimenez. You impressed the hell out me last season and I take back everything I said about you before it. You are one of the better strikers in the league and I think you will do the business for Wolverhampton again this year. Wolves have done very well in the transfer window and I think Patrick Cutrone might have been overkill, but I think he can serve as a great back up in case anyone gets injured. Speaking of injured, did you know that Jesus Vallejo despite his immense talent is injured all the time? Well, he is. So while I think he is a great loan signing, I think he will spend a lot of time on the sidelines.
